How to Maintain and Clean Wooden Toys
As you know, we like wooden toys! Wooden toys are safe, natural, and durable. They stimulate creativity and children’s senses. But what’s the best way to clean wooden toys?
1. Keep natural with mild dish soap, vinegar (white vinegar or cider works well), or another non-toxic general cleaner diluted with water. Wood has natural antibacterial properties, so it will not be affected by bacteria such as plastic toys.
2. do not immerse or immerse wooden toys in the proper water spray. Wipe them with a cloth and warm water and then dry them. Wood is porous, so soaking may cause them to swell and change shape.
3. Drying in the sun is very good, because it can speed up the drying process, and the sun is a natural way to kill more bacteria. However, strong sunlight or long exposure can cause fading and cracking, please monitor it. You will immediately take these hands back to their favorite toys!
Depending on the wooden items, occasionally moisturizing may be beneficial. Olive oil works well, or another non-toxic option is beeswax polish. (beeswax oil smells delicious!)
When considering cleaning wooden toys, remember to refer to the manufacturer’s maintenance instructions for specific information about the item.
